Apple News App to Offer Subscription Content

It was reported this week that Apple is working to make subscription content available through its news app. This would give publishers with a paywall a new outlet for their content, and also differentiate Apple News from Facebook's Instant Articles offering. No word on whether or not Apple would take a cut of subscriber fees from publishers, or how they would actually authenticate subscribers, but the move would likely "give Apple a boost as it seeks to distinguish itself from a growing crowd of online news apps."
