This week SoundHound, best known for their popular song recognition app, launched a new voice-enabled assistant app called Hound. Hound is designed to compete with rival apps like Siri and Google Now, and claims to be able to understand and process more complex requests than its competitors. Hound CEO Keyvan Mohjer acknowledges that the app is at a bit of a disadvantage since it is not native to users devices like other voice-enabled assistants, but is confident that its advanced features will be enough to convince users to make the switch. According to Mohjer, the "eventual plan - and the original vision - is to bring Hound to all types of interfaces, not just smartphones; wearables, cars and other connected devices could all benefit from the platform, he says.
