DirecTV Unveils Streaming Video Plans

This week AT&T announced streaming video plans for DirecTV (who they acquired last year). Three different DirecTV-related streaming services were unveiled: 1) DirecTV Now, which will offer wired and wireless Internet users a range of content options, 2) DirecTV Mobile, which will deliver premium video and made-for-digital content to wireless customers, and 3) DirecTV Preview, which will offer free, ad-supported original and acquired content for wired and wireless devices. No details were released on programming or pricing for any of the services, which "makes it impossible to predict whether they'll be compelling options for potential cable or satellite cord cutters, or millennials who don't subscribe to traditional pay TV."
