RIAA Releases 2015 Numbers

The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) released their full-year numbers for 2015 this week, revealing a slight increase in recording industry revenue from last year - about .09%. The report also revealed an increase in streaming revenue, but a decrease in per-stream rate. According to Billboard, "That per-stream rates are dropping as consumption volume increases isn't a surprise, but it is a thorny underside to the recording industry's most promising market." Some other notable stats from the report include: a 52.3% increase in paid subscription revenue, and a 6.2% increase in digital sales revenue. Read a full breakdown of the RIAA report here.
