SoundCloud Launches Subscription Tier

SoundCloud Go launched today, SoundCloud's much anticipated subscription tier, which offers users millions of on-demand 'premium' tracks for $9.99/month. ). Estimates say that premium tracks likely make up about 25 million of the 125 million tracks currently on SoundCloud. Go subscribers will also have access to additional features like offline listening and no ads. Users on the free tier will still have access to the existing SoundCloud UCG trove, but will start seeing ads and not have access to offline listening (SoundCloud's most requested feature). CEO Alexander Ljung also confirmed that "there will be more paid services getting added in the future, including a tier for creators who are uploading content that mixes in licensed music."
