Tumblr Launching Live Video

Tumblr launched live video this week, giving users on the popular blogging site the ability to broadcast themselves directly to their followers' dashboards (and vice-versa). Users will receive push notifications when other users they follow go live or reblog a live stream. Support for the live stream function is being pushed out through partner apps like YouTube and YouNow, with Tumblr as the publishing and discovery platform for the streams. According to Tumblr, they are "working with a number of media partners who will be live streaming live content and events to Tumblr's service, such as Mashable, Refinery29, MTV, The Huffington Post and others.
