Beatport Improves Profitability

Post-SFX's bankruptcy filing last year, it looks like Beatport has finally managed to turn its finances around and avoid being sold. The digital music service implemented some major changes to the platform back in May that seem to have paid off, including the ditching of streaming music to focus on downloads only. According to an SFX spokesperson: "Our renewed focus on the Beatport Store, following our announcement of platform changes in May, 2016, has been well-received and successful. The changes we implemented have laid a strong foundation for Beatport that have dramatically improved its profitability." Read more on Beatport's turnaround here.
