Free Hulu Ending

Hulu announced the end of their free tier this week - and the transition of the streaming service's free TV library to Yahoo's upcoming TV streaming hub, Yahoo View. According to sources, Hulu customers will be notified of the change over the next week along with free-trial offers for Hulu's paid tier. Hulu SVP Ben Smith said in a press release that: "For the past couple years, we've been focused on building a subscription service that provides the deepest, most personalized content experience possible to our viewers. As we have continued to enhance that offering with new originals, exclusive acquisitions and movies, the free service became very limited and no longer aligned with the Hulu experience or content strategy."
