Great news for video creators on Twitter... the popular social media platform just announced plans to begin splitting ad revenue with content creators posting original video on the site. The split would see 70% of ad rev going to the creator, with Twitter taking just 30% - much more appealing than YouTube’s 55/45 ad rev split. Twitter already splits revenue with their premium content creators like the NFL, so this new offer extends to more YouTube-style stars and creators (and will offer major incentive for creators on Twitter’s 6-second video app Vine). And another perk for creators: “Twitter is not requiring content exclusives as part of the deal. That means creators can post the same video to Twitter that they also post elsewhere.” Read more on Twitter’s push to become a video destination here.
