MTV Testing Livestreaming/TV Tech

It was revealed this week that Viacom is in the early stages of testing experimental new tech that would allow livestreams from viewers to be incorporated into a program on the air. The new technology is expected to debut on MTV Australia early next year, and would be more widely implemented across Viacom properties if successfully. According to Ross Martin, Viacom's EVP of marketing strategy and engagement, "The Viacom Labs team will continue to push the limits of possibility around live streaming and more, across all our brands, where hundreds of fans-first innovations are already underway. Tapping advanced TV and live storytelling to propel fan engagement will make a huge impact across our portfolio."
