Hypebot published an excellent article this week breaking down Pandora's efforts to reinvent themselves as a 'full stack' music streaming business. 'Full stack' is a term coined by Songkick's Ian Hogarth to describe a digital music company that combines products that complement and add value to one another. In the case of Pandora, these products are their streaming/radio services combined with their recently acquired ticketing company Ticketfly. This acquisition has given Ticketfly access to Pandora's 81 million monthly listeners, and allows Pandora to leverage its listener data to boost ticket sales. According to Hypebot "Pandora believes a full-stack combination of music streaming and ticketing could provide a solution to an old, vexing problem:how to sell more tickets when many concerts don't sell out?"
