YouTube Hits Huge Milestone

This week YouTube hit a pretty gigantic milestone with the announcement that people now watch over a billion hours every day watching the video platform. This number, boosted no doubt by algorithms and personalized user lineups, is a ten-fold increase since 2012 - and is creeping up on daily US television viewerships. TechCrunch notes that, this staggering new statistic "reflects YouTube's ascent to a primary media distribution platform that others who want a piece of the video pie, including Facebook, will have to work hard to edge out."
