Competitive Voice Control Landscape

The landscape for voice control products has become increasingly more competitive over the past year, with products like Amazon's Echo and Google Home become more and more popular with consumers. And while we are still in the early days of the adoption of voice control tech, it appears that Amazon is an early leader in the space, with Google close behind. But according to a recent MiDIA article, the two tech giants have very different strategies for success. While Amazon's Echo relies largely on the Amazon platform and success with Prime to drive sales, "Google's emphasis appears to be on the Google Assistant product being available on as many devices as possible, suggesting their position in voice control hardware is more about improving their AI an existing search capabilities than owning the home control market."
