Snap Spectacles 2.0

It was reported this week that Snap, Inc. is reportedly working on a second version of their Snap Spectacles, which may include AR capabilities. The original Snap Spectacles (which just went on sale in Europe) allow users to take photos and record video to post on Snapchat, but lack the popular World Lenses feature that exists on the mobile app. According to Techcrunch, "Snap's app is already primed to support such a move.It recently rolled out an augmented reality feature- called World Lenses - in April which allows users to place digital objects around them. Unlike masks and filters, users can walk around the 3D objects which exist in their space when viewed through the Snapchat app for a limited time before disappearing." No word on how much the 2nd generation Spectacles might cost, but they will likely be more expensive than the $129.99 first generation Spectacles. Read more on Snapchat's next-gen Spectacles here.
