The Wall Street Journal reported this week TV ad sales are expected to decline this year for the first time for the first time since 2009. The decline is a result of a slow in worldwide advertising revenue growth, which is projected to slow to 4.7% worldwide (down from 4.9% last year). According to the WSJ article, "Petering growth in the ad market more broadly, while minimal, is symbolic of a broader shift in how advertisers are allocating their spending, as well as some particular trends in the U.S." Most noteably, advertisers are shifting how they are budget their dollars, with a portion of funds normally allocated for TV going to digital media.
