Amazon just launched a new product discovery program called Spark, which allows Amazon Prime users to post stories, ideas and images of products they love, which others can react to with comments and "smiles". The look of the new program is similar to Instagram and their integration of shoppable photos - with Amazon's "smiles" being the equivalent of a "like". According to TechCrunch, "The goal with the new program is to shift some of the social activity around products taking place off-site back to Amazon, where product inspiration can translate directly into purchases with a click of a button." Right now Prime users can only access Spark through the Amazon app (it's not desktop compatible yet), where it will create a customizable feed based on things you like to shop for or might be interested in.
