This week NBC News launched the first daily news show for Snapchat, called Stay Tuned. NBC staffed and produced the program, which will be between two and three minutes long, and run twice on weekday and once on weekend days. The Snapchat partnership is part of a much larger initiative by NBC to reach younger audiences, and comes on the heels of their $500 million dollar investment in Snap's IPO last month. Nick Ascheim, a senior VP of digital content at NBC News toldVariety, "There is a generation of people who are going to be cord-nevers, cord-cutters. We need to know how to reach them." Snapchat has also been investing heavily in news content, also producing a version of Good Morning America in-house, and investing in partner content from the NYTimes and Vice.
