Facebook is reportedly working on a subscription tool for articles, and some details have begun to emerge on the hands-off approach that the social media giant is taking with publishers. Facebook reportedly isn't asking for any revenue or data from publishers, and plan to implement a paywall that would kick in after users view 10 free articles per month from an individual publisher. Once users hit the 10-article limit, they will be prompted to sign up for a subscription directly from the publisher. According to Recode, this "distinguishes the company from other big platforms, notably Apple, which sells digital subscriptions through its App store and its Apple News feature but takes up to 30 percent of the monthly revenue from those transactions." Read more here on Facebook's "ongoing effort to address publishers' complaints about the way the company uses their work, and what kind of compensation they get in return."
