On the one-year anniversary of the rollout of Instagram's Snapchat clone, Instagram Stories, it was announced that Stories has officially surpassed Snapchat in terms of daily use. Snapchat's growth rate has dropped from 17.2% per quarter to 5%, and Instagram Stories now has almost 90 million more users than Snapchat. Instagram Stories' daily use time has also surpassed Snapchat's, whose share prices have fallen from its $17 IPO to $13. Instagram's success in competing with Snapchat is impressive - as TechCrunch observes, "Instagram is actually getting more efficient at copying Snapchat. While it took almost 3 years to launch its own version of Stories, Instagram needed just 4 months to copy Snapchat's create-your-own-stickers feature launched in April."
