Goldman Sachs just released a report forecasting that global revenues from streaming music will hit $28 billion by 2030 - up 16% from previous predictions. This is an incredibly optimistic view for the industry, and suggests that the global music business is about to see huge growth that will benefit rights holders tremendously. "Goldman analysts including Lisa Yang suggest that the likes of Sony Music and Universal Music Group will typically "receive 55%-60% of royalties for every piece of content that is being monetized" in the future." Due to this improved forecast, the report upped Universal Music Group's estimated valuation to $23.5 billion. Read more of Goldman Sach's predictions for global music streaming revenue growth here.
