According to new data just published by NewsWhip, engagement numbers for videos posted to top media publisher accounts worldwide increased by 53% year over year in May. Video publishers on the platform have taken note of the success the platform has had with videos, and as a result have been posting more and more content. For example, top publisher Bleacher Report posted a whopping 479 videos in May 2017, and Sports Illustrated posted 325 - both a huge increase from the amount posted by both at the same time last year. According to eMarketer, "The trend of increased social video advertising is reflected in sentiments expressed by those overseeing ad budgets. An April survey of marketers in the US carried out by cloud-based video creation companyincrease spending on Instagram video ads over the coming year." Read more on the story here.
