It was projected this week that Vevo is set to pull in $200 million in upfront ad deals this year - in large part thanks to Taylor Swift. Business Insider reports that Vevo can attribute much of their success this year to both the company's shift to a TV-like selling model and the massive success of the video for Taylor Swift's new single (which has generated well over 300 million views since its August 27th debut)... which combined have resulted in a 30% boost in overall ad revenue growth in 2017. Sources say that Vevo's new chief sales officer, Kevin McGurn, has achieved success because "Instead of focusing on more digital ad stapleslike branded content, custom sponsorships, clicks and laser targeting, his team embraced selling lots of video ads aimed atVevo's massive audience using the equivalent of TV ratings data."
