Recently we discussed Rupert Murdock's musings about removing News Corp's websites from search results to stop them from "stealing our content." One of Murdock's lieutenants, News Corp's chief digital officer, Jonathon Miller, followed up on those comments from the boss by saying that the move to block Google searches would happen in a matter of months, not weeks.
Miller reiterated <http://www.dmwmedia.com/news/2009/11/13/report%3A-news-corp.-block-google-news-%2526quot%3Bwithin-months%2526quot%3B> Murdock's opinion that users who click over from a search engine typically read one article, and then go away. He characterized these users as the least valuable to their business. Google, for its part, said that 100,000 users per minute click from Google News to newspaper sites.
