PMG President Tommy Hadges continues his review of new technologies from the CES with information about the latest generation of USB:
On the tech side, one of the most significant innovations on display was USB 3.0, which is 10 times faster than USB 2.0 & capable of carrying 5 gigabytes of data per second. That means that theoretically a 25 gigabyte HD movie could be transferred in 70 seconds, compared to the 14 minutes it would take using USB 2.0 connections. This technology, which is backwards compatible with older USB systems, was included in new laptops from HP & Asus, as well as external hard drives from Seagate.
