PMG President Tommy Hadges makes an annual trip to the CES in Las Vegas. Today, he wraps up his series on the convention with his pick for the coolest new toy...and a suggestion for next year's attendees:
My choice of coolest new toy would be the Sony "DASH" Personal Internet Viewer. It contains no browser, but rather uses over 1,000 free apps to provide Wi-Fi access to a variety of information & entertainment websites through its 7" color screen & stereo speakers. Available in April for $199, it's a great update on existing clock radios.
Attending the CES is always fun, but fighting the crowds is getting worse, primarily due to the large number of people walking very slowly, so they could text at the same time. My main wish for next year is that everybody would quickly install the 99? Type n Walk app, which superimposes an image from the iPhone camera over the texting screen, so they can see where they are walking while sending a text message...it would definitely speed up getting from exhibit to exhibit in 2011!
