PMG President Tommy Hadges overview of CES 2010 continues with a survey of new innovations in E-readers:
There were a lot of manufacturers showing e-book readers, including Ditto, Astak, Netronix, Hanvon & iriver, all aimed at fighting Amazon's popular Kindle, but they all seemed doomed to be eventually replaced by the many tablet computers on display, due to their larger screens & more entertainment options. It's easiest to think of tablet computers as an iPhone on steroids, with no separate keyboard, but with a clear, color touch-screen display big enough to surf the web, watch videos & read e-books.
Actually, most people expect that the entire tablet computer business will soon be revolutionized by the new tablet rumored to be coming from Apple, which is expected to be announced within 60 days. Apple, of course, prefers launching its products through its own events, not wanting to share the spotlight with other manufacturers and their products.
