Cablevision's PC to TV Media Relay

Much of the recent discussion about TV innovation has centered around 3D, DVRs and accessing subscription services on multiple platforms. Most of the latter category has centered around allowing users to access TV content that they pay for on their computers or mobile devices. Cablevision has just announced a new service called PC to TV Media Relay that will go in the other direction.

Starting with a June trial, subscribers will be able to relay content from their PCs (i.e., photos, music, home videos, email, etc.) to their televisions. This new service will use a secure connection to stream the content to the television on a dedicated channel, accessible only by each subscriber.
