Rhapsody has released a new app for the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad that will allow its subscribers to download music to their device for listening offline. According to TechCrunch <http://www.crunchgear.com/2010/04/26/rhapdosy-app-for-ipad-ipod-touch-iphone-lets-you-download-music-now-no-internet-connection-required> , it's the first time Apple has allowed a 3rd party music subscription app to download songs in the US. European iPhone users have been able to do the same through Spotify, a service which still has yet to launch in the US.
This means that Rhapsody users can get the best of both worlds, an entire music collection in the cloud, as well as the ability to download to a mobile device. Microsoft's Zune has similar functionality, but users have to pay for each download.
