At the recent E3 video game conference, Market research firm NPD Group <http://www.npd.com/press/releases/press_100616.html> released an interesting study of the used video game market. In 2009, according to NPD, used game rentals, subscriptions and downloadable content added up to a $4.5 billion to $4.75 billion market. This compares with $10.5 billion for the new game software market. NPD Group also noted that these totals excluded social gaming.
