Ad spending in the US increased by 5.9% in the first half of this year, according to a survey by Kantor Media. Total ad spending reached $63.57 billion. Spending in the second quarter was up 5.4% compared to Q2 in 2009. TV accounted for the biggest share of the increase, while local newspapers continued its slide.
