YouTube continues to be the big dog in online video viewing, but ComScore's report <http://www.dmwmedia.com/news/2010/10/01/report-facebook-tops-yahoo-no-2-us-video-site> for August shows Facebook sliding past Yahoo into second place. All of Google's sites, including YouTube, combined for 1.9 billion of 5.2 billion total US online video viewing sessions.
That's a lot of video, but how well is it being monetized? We've reported in the past that a surprisingly small number of videos on service like YouTube carry ads. ComScore says that Americans watched 3.8 billion video ads in August. The company that generated the most online ad impressions was Hulu with 790 million impressions during the month.
