We're still months away from the debut of the 10th season of American Idol, but one thing that apparently will not change is that it goes into the New Year as the most expensive regular show to advertise on. AdAge reports <http://adage.com/article?article_id=146495#tues> that the annual up front sales have been strong for the Fox entertainment giant, even though there's been a lot of upheaval in the cast.
AdAge's figures show that Idol is getting an average $467,617 for a 30-ssecond spot on the Tuesday night version, while the Wednesday results show spots are selling for just over $400,000. Until Idol returns, the big money goes to NBC's Sunday Night Football, which is getting an average of $415,000 per 30-second spot.
