Each day we get word of new technological advances; if not advances in the technology themselves, at least advances in the distribution and monetization of those technologies. Here are a couple of the more recent examples of the latter:
- Dish Network enables streaming to the iPad - DISH subscribers can download the Remote Access app from the Android Market. This app will let users watch TV through their iPads, as well as use their ipads as fully-functional remotes, if the user has a compatible DVR.
- WinAmp adds Wireless Syncing for Android devices - Someday, all portable players will have wireless syncing...if they don't just skip this step and move right to a cloud-based service. Still, it seems that cloud-based services won't be practical for all uses, such as international traveling which would incur prohibitively expensive roaming charges. But wireless syncing is a no-brainer that all devices and operating systems will eventually move to.
