CBS chief of research, David Poltrack, released figures in December showing that the network is getting about 20% of its overall primetime viewing from DVRs. This adds up to 2 1/2 million viewers, 1 million of whom watch shows via DVR the same day that they were broadcast. The other 1 1/5 million watch them within a week of its original broadcast. These figures vary greatly by demographic. In the prime 18-49 demographic, DVR viewing adds 42% to the overall audience.
