In Part 4 of his review of this year’s Consumer Electronics Show, PMG President Tommy Hadges moves from 3D TV and tablets to other devices.
On the radio front, there were after-market car stereo units equipped to control radio smartphone apps from terrestrial stations as well as Internet-only streams like Pandora, primarily through USB connections to iPhones. Kenwood also displayed some in-dash multimedia/navigation systems with Pandora already embedded in them.
Toyota unveiled its Entune Infotainment System, which will be released in a few vehicles later this year, to compete with the Ford Sync. These telematics systems both allow for USB-connection & control of iPods & music players, with Bluetooth-connection & control of smartphones, including their loaded apps.
