Video Kiosks Beat In-Store Video

NPD Group claims that video rentals from kiosks surpassed the share of rentals that took place in stores for the first time in 2010. In fact, in-store rentals are now in 3rd place in video rentals. The top spot is held by subscription services (such as Netflix), with kiosks now taking second place. This is a milestone of sorts, but not surprising. Physical rentals have been a diminishing share of total video rentals, with services such as Netflix' streaming service, increasingly taking over the market.
