Studios to Test VOD Movie Rentals

Studios owned by Time Warner, Sonly, Comcast and New Corp. will soon begin testing a new premium VOD service for movies that have left the theater but that have not been released on DVD. The streaming service would cost $30, higher than the average ticket price for theatrical release, but a possible bargain once time, convenience and concession prices are factored in. The system will be tested on DirecTV over the next few months.
