Drilling Down into Twitter Stats

Silicon Alley Insider has published an analysis of Twitter's user base and revealed some interesting facts about the follower/following stats. Twitter claims 175 million users, or people who have ever opened up a Twitter account. But how about how many people really use it? Here's what the analysis shows:

Following:
68% (119 million) follow 1 or more other accounts
32% (56 million) accounts following 0 other accounts

Followers:
49% (85 million) have 1 or more followers
51% (90 million) with no one following them
