Online Ad revenue Up 15% in 2010

The final figures for 2010 are in and the IAB and PreicewaterhouseCoopers calculate that online ad revenue in the U.S. went up 15% in 2010. Total online revenue hit a record $26 billion for the year. The biggest category again was search, with 46% of the online ad market. Search was up 12% from 2010. Display saw the biggest increase, accounting for 38% of the online ad market. The biggest individual categories for growth were:
- Sponsorships, up 88% to $718 million
- Video commercials, up 40% to just under $1.5 billion.
