In less than 4 years the iPhone has become the primary driver of Apple’s business. Apple’s recent quarterly earnings call included the information that the iPhone now generates just under half of Apple’s revenue. The iPhone generated $12.3 billion out of a total of $24.7 billion in Q1 2011. Throw in the iPod Touch and the iPad and the devices that run Apple’s iOS account for 2/3 of their revenue.
